Construction of 13,500 sf heavily reinforced concrete laboratory facility
with site work and utility construction, providing over 7,500 sf of
specialized laboratory space, 2,600 sf covered loading dock and 7,500+ sf
of office space. Self-performed work included site work, excavation,
concrete, masonry, cold-formed metal framing, doors, frames, and
hardware installation, plumbing, HVAC piping, electrical service
distribution, lighting and lighting controls. Subcontracted activities
included reinforcing steel placement, structural steel fabrication and
erection, casework fabrication, TPO roofing, sheet metal, metal composite
wall panels, painting and pre-engineered building erection. Custom-
engineered high pressure blast doors were fabricated and installed for
laboratory area. Specialized subcontractors also installed an automated
building controls, fire suppression, communications wiring and equipment
and security systems.
